What is Food Psychology Coaching?
Food coaching explores our thoughts, beliefs,
and perceptions about food and eating. The gradual
progression of the coaching relationship exposes the
"search for perfection" as an energy diminisher that
can cause us to feel separate, lonely, and even
unlovable. Maintaining perfection as a focal point
can easily lead to behaviors that reinforce the
disconnects that we are trying to heal.
Food Psychology Coaching applies the
strategies of mind-body nutrition to create an
experience of unraveling and evolving. This often
shows up as a letting go of outdated beliefs and false
presumptions to make space for compassion,
non-judgement, and self-acceptance.
As a coach, I work with each individual on the
physical, emotional, psychological, cultural, and
spiritual dimensions of weight loss, body image,
compulsive eating, and chronic dieting.
Most people (more than 90% statistically)
who lose weight on calorie restrictive diets
gain the weight back within one to two years.
These diets of denial are not effective OR satisfying.
Coaching steps up with an holistic approach to fill in
the gaps.
Your thoughts, feelings, and beliefs have a distinct
impact on the way you eat as well as your
metabolism. Because you are the expert on your
behaviors and intentions, food coaching draws on
your inner wisdom to identify and transform your
relationship with food.
By examining these principal areas in your life...
• Personal relationships • Family and community
• Work and finance • Exercise/movement
• Sexuality/sensuality • Fulfillment/Joy
...you are on the path to transforming self-
limiting beliefs and clarifying your goals and
dreams.
Is Food Coaching for you? It sure is, if any of these statements resonate with you;
* You feel like you are always on a diet.
* You would like to spend less time (or NO time) worrying about food.
* You avoid or stress out about social situations involving food.
* You're tired of the numbers game; counting calories, weighing food & yourself, measuring portions.
* You are saying or thinking, "I know all of the information, so WHY can't I make the changes?"
* Even when you believe you had a "good" day with food, you wonder how you can keep it up.
* You want to LOVE your relationship with food!
